Creative art camps offered at Viva Vida Art Gallery provide an opportunity to develop technique and explore creativity while enjoying the leisurely pace of the season.

Summer camps allow the kids to immerse themselves in an approachable art journey without missing the summer beats! Here are some of the activities we do :

Session 1: June 23rd - June 27th

GROUPS: Ages 5-9 - Ages 10-12 and teens

The Color Lab: Exploring Art & Hue

Step into the Color Lab, where you’ll unlock the secrets of the rainbow! Campers will experiment with color theory, mixing paints, and exploring the connections between color and emotion. From sculpting to drawing to painting, you'll dive into a world of creative exploration, using every color under the sun to express your imagination!

Session 2: June 30th - July 4th

GROUPS: Ages 5-9 - Ages 10-12 and teens

Masterpieces in the Making

This week, history comes to life on canvas! We’ll immerse ourselves in the masterpieces of art’s greatest legends—Da Vinci, Kahlo, Picasso, and more. From surrealism to impressionism, campers will experiment with iconic painting styles and techniques, creating works inspired by the greats. Grab your brushes, and let’s create legendary art!

Session 3: July 7th - 11th

GROUPS: Ages 5-9 Ages 10-12 and teens

Vibes & Visions: Art Inspired by Music

Let the music guide your brush! This week, we’ll pair famous tunes from the '60s to today with different art techniques, from tie-dye to sculpture. As the beats flow, so will your creativity—create paintings, sculptures, and drawings inspired by the sounds of rock, pop, hip-hop, and folk music. It’s the ultimate mash-up of art and rhythm!

Session 4: July 14th - 18th

GROUPS: Ages 5 - 9 Ages 10-12 

Toon Town Creations

Get ready to dive into the world of animated adventures! Whether you’re into superheroes, cartoons, or claymation, this week is all about telling stories through art. Design your own characters, create comic strips, and explore the magic of animation. What’s your story? Let’s bring it to life in the world of cartoons and creativity!

TEEN OPTION: AGES 13-16

GRUNGE, GRAFFITI AND GRIT

Graffiti as an art has been around since prehistoric cave drawings. In this camp, participants will create their own "tag”. They will also learn about famous graffiti artists, work with stencils and spray. In addition participants will explore urban art, public art, and murals.

Session 5: July 21nd - 25th

GROUPS: Ages 5 - 9 Ages 10-12

Nature’s Palette

From towering trees to tiny bugs, the natural world is a never-ending source of artistic inspiration! This week, campers will explore landscapes, botanical drawings, and organic sculptures, all inspired by the beauty of nature. Using earth-friendly materials like leaves, stones, and clay, they’ll create works of art that celebrate our planet and learn how art can reflect the environment around us.

Session 6: July 28th - August 1st 

GROUPS: Ages 5 - 9, Ages 10-12, Ages 13-15

Passport to Art: Global Adventures in Creativity

Pack your bags for a worldwide artistic journey! This week, campers will travel the globe through their creativity, exploring art and culture from every corner of the world. From African masks to Japanese ink paintings, we’ll use clay, paint, and sculpture to create a collection of artwork inspired by different countries and traditions. Collect stamps in your “world art adventure passport” as you discover new destinations and create global masterpieces!

Session 7: August 4th - 8th

GROUPS: Ages 5 - 9 Ages 10-12 and teens

Clay & Construct: The Art of 3D Creations

Get ready to roll up your sleeves and dive into the world of sculpture! This week, campers will experiment with clay, plaster, wire, and other materials to create stunning three-dimensional works of art. Drawing inspiration from famous sculptors like Michelangelo and Rodin, campers will craft unique sculptures that represent their own creative journeys. Let’s sculpt up a storm and bring your ideas to life in 3D!

Session 8: August 11th - 15th

GROUPS: Ages 5 - 9 Ages 10-12 

The Art of the Line: Mastering Drawing & Design

It’s time to get sketching! This week, campers will explore the endless possibilities of drawing—whether it’s creating caricatures, perfecting line drawings, or designing stunning illustrations. Experiment with different styles and techniques to develop a dynamic portfolio of sketches and doodles. From pencil to ink, discover how lines can tell stories and express your imagination!

TEEN OPTION: AGES 13-16

DRAWING FOR TEENS

This camp will focus on the fundamentals of drawing: elements of line, composition, proportion, space and light, while using different drawing materials. Develop the eye of an artist!

Session 9: August 18th - 22nd

GROUPS: Ages 5 - 9 Ages 10-12 and teens

Mythical & Magical: Art Inspired by Legends

Step into the world of myth and magic! This week, campers will create art inspired by legends, fairy tales, and mythical creatures—dragons, unicorns, mermaids, and more. Using painting, sculpture, and storytelling, they’ll bring these fantastical beings to life and design their own mythical worlds. It’s a journey through imagination and creative storytelling!

Session 10: August 25th - 29th

GROUPS: Ages 5 - 9 Ages 10-12 and teens

Reclaimed Creations: Art with a Purpose

Turn trash into treasure this week! Explore the exciting world of upcycled art as campers use recycled materials like metal, paper, and plastic to create stunning pieces. Inspired by modern eco-artists, we’ll make sculptures, collages, and mixed media masterpieces, all while learning the importance of sustainability and creativity. If you love art and care about the planet, this is the perfect week to get hands-on and make art with purpose!
